The iPad 3 is almost here. What to expect from the most anticipated device of 2012?

This article will explain you what to expect from the iPad 3.

Final countdown has begun for the iPad 3. The release date for the iPad 3 is confirmed by Apple. The 7th of March seems the most possible release date for iPad 3 as we look through the previous releases of iPads. We can expect it to be announced on 7th and then be found in Apple stores in the US by March 16. Some are saying that the iPad 3 is almost an iPad 2S, so we can also expect it to be named as iPad 2S.

There are some rumors of the possible iPad release with a smaller 7” display including lower price tag and it would be named iPad Mini or 7” iPad. This would be sold to compete against the popular Kindle Fire.

Here are some Quick Facts about the new iPad 3:

It will include…
  • The new A6 processor and IOS 5

  • Battery with light weight, 20 to 30 % more cost and  longer life

  • New retina display and of course a camera

  • Fingerprint Proof

  • The iCloud technology

  • Wireless charging technology, which will be able to charge the battery and transfer data wirelessly

Now let’s look at these features in more depth one by one.

The New A6 Processor

The iPad 2 has 900MHz dual-core ARM Cortext-A9 processor, Apple A5 chipset and PowerVr SGX543MP2 GPU which makes it more powerful than any other tablets. The competition will be tougher in the market because Apple is planning to introduce A6 Quad-core Processor in the iPad 3. This would be as powerful as any high-end desktop.

Linley Group senior analyst Kevin Krewell said, “We expect the A6 will be a quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 design, which would be competitive with next year’s best mobile processors. In 2012, Nvidia will offer a quad-core Cortex-A9 processor, and Qualcomm will have the aforementioned MSM8960, a dual-core A15-class processor operating at 1.7GHz. Fabricating Apple’s A6 in 28nm (instead of the 40nm process Nvidia is using for its quad-core part) will reduce both die cost and power, yielding a much better product.”

iOS 5

The iPad 3 will come with the latest iOS 5, which has the multi-touch gesture technology. Some analysts and experts are saying that Apple would introduce OS X Lion for the tablet, since it will be powered by a quad-core processor.

It will also have multitasking features such as notifications, task-finishing, app-switching, location and background sound.

Retina Display

The tech experts expected the Retina Display feature on Apple iPad 2; however, Apple has been working majorly for an improved version of it to include it in the iPad 3.

This is how Apple explains Retina Display as: “Developing pixels a mere 78 micrometers wide, Apple engineers were able to pack four times the number of pixels into the same 3.5-inch (diagonal) screen found on earlier iPhone models. The resulting pixel density – 326 pixels per inch – makes text and graphics look smooth and continuous at any size.”

We can expect an improved camera with iPad 3, since the previous version of the table didn’t seem impressive enough. It will have….

  • LED flash support
  • The technology made by OmniVision will help reduce the size of the table by 20 percent
  • 5 MP camera with 1080p or 720p video recording quality of 60 frames per second

Fingerprint Proof

Apple has already been granted patents on this technology, and is working real hard to make the iPad 3 fingerprint proof. The touch screen will be coated with oleophobic materials, which will reduce the oil and fingerprints on the screen.

Apple will definitely include the iCloud technology both in the iPhone 5 and iPad 3. The iCloud users can store photos, apps, calendars and access songs on iTunes without having them to store in the phone’s memory.

Rumors indicate that iPad 3 could be priced at a very high range because it promises a lot of new and exciting features. I think that it would be priced in reasonable range because of the tougher competition in tablet market.

This is obviously a “hot topic” of the market; our fingers are crossed for the most anticipated device that everyone wants. One last thing to mention that Apple will be releasing iPhone 5 after a few months of the launch of iPad 3. We will have an article on that, so keep visiting Factbook.

Introducing Factbook. What is Factbook? What is this blog about?

This is my first ever blog post, so I was thinking how to start this journey. I thought that the best way to kick off would be “an Introductory Article.” I will also be answering few questions like, “How or why did I start this blog?” and “What is this blog about?” or “Why the name: Factbook?” Let’s start with the first question.

I like to get information from the web because it’s fast and easy, so as usual, I was searching on the internet on a topic. I visited few websites and tried to read them, but they all were boring. I felt like I was in my college’s library, reading some boring stuff. Uhhh… it sounds really boring, right? A question raised in my mind, “Is there any way that we can get some good information and learn them easily?” The answer was NO for me, so I came up with an idea to start a blog for people like me who like to read on the web and want to learn or know amazing things different and easy way. Now let’s move to the second question.

I was talking with my friend (who is in the field of I.T., a good blogger, too). He told me that whatever subject (topic) I choose to write on, I should write on “facts”. Everything has facts, e.g.,
Technology: Facts on computer
Biology: Facts on human body
Internet: Facts on Google – and so forth. On this concept, I named my blog Factbook.

I will write on different subjects. I will choose them randomly, but I promise you one thing that you will enjoy it and your time won’t be wasted. If you want me to write on something, just email me and I’ll be happy to help you. My email address is [[email protected]]. Please, do support us by subscribing and giving comments below. Thanks for visiting and come back later, something interesting is coming soon. 😉
